Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion (DEAI) Booklet

Tools for engaging communities and incorporating DEAI practices into informal STEM projects. The tools, practices, and project examples are designed to support NISE Network partner efforts in making their experiences more relevant and inclusive in order to promote a more equitable STEM future in our local communities.

DESCRIPTION

Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion Booklet: Tools for Engaging Communities and Incorporating DEAI Practices into Informal STEM Projects.

As the NISE Network continues to move forward in our efforts to inspire and support a lifetime of STEM engagement, we seek to ensure that our work embodies the principles of Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion (DEAI). For our organizations to evolve, we need to position DEAI as core to all of our missions and successes—not siloed within a specific initiative, individual, or program. Together we can interrogate current practices and use innovative approaches to determine a collective path forward. The purpose of this booklet is to provide you with practical tools to support your journey to a more equitable team and organization. The tools, practices, and project examples are designed to support NISE Network partner efforts in making their experiences more relevant and inclusive in order to promote a more equitable STEM future in our local communities.

Originally developed for the NISE Network’s Earth & Space Project-Based Learning Community which took place in 2021-2022, and updated to include examples from partner projects.
