Learn about how children's and teenagers' participation in out-of-school time activities and hobbies can influence STEM identity and career interest as young adults. Research findings of a recent NSF-funded study include comparisons by gender as well as barriers to participation in out-of-school time activities. Workshop attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about an upcoming NSF-funded national study exploring factors that may affect STEM identity and career interest for students traditionally underrepresented in STEM, and have input into some of the questions being asked in the study.
