Fact Sheets and brochures describing the NISE Network and summarizing opportunities.

DESCRIPTION

We've created a selection of useful fact sheets and brochures to introduce the NISE Network:

  • The Projects and Opportunities flyer quickly summarizes NISE Network projects and how to get involved and find resources.
  •  The NISE Network fact sheet, created in collaboration with the Center for Advancement of Informal Science Education (CAISE), provides an overview of the NISE Network and an introduction to the field of informal STEM learning (revised in 2019). This can be used by partners to promote the network within their own institution or with potential collaborators.

Also included for archival purposes are materials are from the Nanoscale Informal Science Network last updated 2014.

OBJECTIVES

NANO CONTENT MAP

Nanometer-sized things are very small, and often behave differently than larger things do.

Scientists and engineers have formed the interdisciplinary field of nanotechnology by investigating properties and manipulating matter at the nanoscale.

Nanoscience, nanotechnology, and nanoengineering lead to new knowledge and innovations that weren't possible before.

Nanotechnologies—and their costs, utility, risks, and benefits—are closely interconnected with society and with our values.
