Overview

Description:

In the "Horton Senses Something Small" story time program young visitors listen to the Dr. Seuss book "Horton Hears a Who". They look at small things using lenses and use their sense of smell to detect things that are too small to see. Visitors also make and decorate a craft.

Objectives

Big Idea:

There are things too small to see. Some very small things can be detected by the sense of smell.

Learning goals:

As a result of participating in this program, visitors will be introduced to the idea that there are very small things, too small for our eyes to see.
As a result of participating in this program, visitors will be introduced to the idea that our sense of smell can sometimes detect particles that are too small to see.
