Tami Spector is a professor of organic chemistry at the University of San Francisco. Trained as a physical organic chemist with a focus in fluorocarbon and strained ring chemistry, she is currently engaged in research and other activities related to the intersections of art, aesthetics and chemistry. These include serving on the board of Leonardo/International Society for the Arts, Sciences and Technology as the chair of the Scientists Working Group and as the facilitator of a project with the Exploratorium on Art and Nanotechnology. The later entails, among other projects, serving as the co-editor (with Tom Rockwell) of an on-going special section on Art and Nanoscience, and Nanotechnology for the journal Leonardo.
