Michael Davis

The realm of nanotechnology has been growing as rapidly as researchers' ability to imagine new applications for current techniques. I have been a past participant in this research as a graduate student and summer researcher. I am currently a teacher at a community college that is becoming active in research and has choosen nanotechnology as a field for specialization. I am personally interested in demonstrating the size and shape dependent properties of materials in the nano-realm.

My strengths are in public outreach through the demonstration of the practice and prowess of science. Most recently, I constructed an 8-story periodic table of the elements on the side of a building in downtown Chicago.
