The University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) has several nanoscale centers:
the National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network (NNIN)
the California Nanosystems Institute (CNSI)
the Center for Nanotechnology in Society (CNS)
the Materials Research Labs (MRL)
In addition to cutting-edge nanotechnology research, our mission is to educate people about nanotechnology, tools used to make or see nanoscale objects, and provide training on these tools, depending on level.
We educate middle school and high school students and teachers by providing them with activities ranging from chip camps, "days in nanoscale science", school visits, and teacher workshops/research experiences. We provide research experiences for undergraduates, graduates, postdoctoral (international) students, as well as faculty members.
