I serve the Science Museum of Minnesota as an actor in the Public Programs department, performing short, science-related plays and presenting live science demonstrations for the public. Blowing fireballs? Check. Detonating controlled hydrogen explosions? Check. Taking my standard British dialect out for the occasional spin? Check. It’s all in a good day’s work.

I work with the Public Programs team on general programs (Alice in NanoLand!) Adult Programs (Science Cafés! Forums! Satirical 1950s educational videos!); and sit in on other NISE meetings from time to time to add my two cents regarding the societal and ethical implications of nano.

And that’s all part-time. The rest of the time I am a voice-over artist for national television and radio commercials, and a proud member of the Screen Actors’ Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

In my free time, I…wait – what free time?
