General Description:
Sciencenter staff ran the NanoDays activity Exploring Measurement: Solutions in November, 2008. 15 visitors participated in the activity and answered some questions about their experience. This formative testing of the exhibit assessed the activity's ability to teach about nanoscale properties and scientists' uses of them.
Major Findings:
The Exploring Measurement: Solutions activity is currently not terribly effective in teaching visitors about the nanoscale and objects that are hard to detect. The learning goal that nano is one billionth of a meter is not getting across strongly enough. This piece of information needs to be highlighted as the activity progresses.
