The NISE Network has just awarded 41 mini-grants to partners for 2014. The Network is able to offer a limited number of small, one-time awards to support initiatives by NISE Net partners to engage their local audiences in nanoscale science, engineering, and technology topics. Requests can be made for an award up to $3,000 dollars to fund a small project or be put towards a larger endeavor.
Each year we continue to receive more applications with high quality project proposals. This year we saw our largest and highest-quality applicant pool yet. A total of 81 proposals were submitted, and choosing only 41 projects to fund from such a highly competitive pool was very difficult. We were simply unable to fund all the wonderful work our partners requested funding to support.
