The NISE Network has just awarded 41 mini-grants to partners for 2014. The Network is able to offer a limited number of small, one-time awards to support initiatives by NISE Net partners to engage their local audiences in nanoscale science, engineering, and technology topics. Requests can be made for an award up to $3,000 dollars to fund a small project or be put towards a larger endeavor.
Each year we continue to receive more applications with high quality project proposals. This year we saw our largest and highest-quality applicant pool yet. A total of 81 proposals were submitted, and choosing only 41 projects to fund from such a highly competitive pool was very difficult. We were simply unable to fund all the wonderful work our partners requested funding to support.
A list of 2014 awards (Year 9) as well as previously funded mini-grant projects is available here:
The NISE Network intends to offer another round of mini-grant funding in Year 10 (2015) of the project. We anticiapte a November 1, 2014 deadline with the online application available in September 2014.
