Partner Highlight: Cool Science Week at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History

Vrylena Olney

Our NISE Net partners at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History recently organized a number of events with Yale materials scientist and NISE Net advisor Ainissa Ramirez as part of their "Cool Science Week."

"Cool Science Week" is an annual program run during the summer that includes fun and informative activities around science, particularly dealing with cool/cold temperatures. This year, our partners at Fort Worth decided to broaden "cool" to include innovative an exciting new scientific fields and discoveries. With the help of a mini-grant from NISE Net, they invited Ainissa to host a small demonstration/workshop for older children (8+) in one of their Innovation Studios, be interviewed by the local NPR affiliate station for the Dallas Fort Worth Area (KERA) on a program called "Think" hosted by Kris Boyd, and present a lecture in the evening to an older audience (middle school - adults/professionals). They also placed NanoDays tabletop activities in the Innovation Studio for most of the day on August 4th.
